Metabolic syndrome (SINM) is a group of health problems created by insulin resistance (RI), defined as the accumulation of fat (especially around the waist), hypertension, high triglycerides, increased blood sugar (diabetes or pre-diabetes ), low levels of “good” cholesterol (HDL).
