Shiitake is a mushroom cultivated in the Far East, being widely used in traditional medicine in Japan, China and Korea, due to the presence of an important component called Beta-Glucans.
Research on Shiitake mushroom began in the early 1970s to test its effect on cholesterol. A report published in the journal Herbs for Health; Jan / Feb 1997 reports the effect of Shiitake mushroom on reducing total cholesterol.
Shiitake activates no less than six types of immune system cells, capable of defeating virtually any infection or tumor. This fungus is one of the few remedies that activates NK cells (short for Natural Killer), which, as the name suggests, are very effective, being the first line of defense against HIV / AIDS, cancerous or benign tumors (cysts, fibroids, adenomas, adenofibromas), against herpes infection or papilloma virus. A Shiitake course takes 3-4 weeks, followed by a 10-day break, after which the treatment can be resumed.
Other benefits of shiitake mushroom:
Similar to Cordyceps mushrooms, Agaricus, Reishi, Maitake and Chaga, Shiitake is an effective weapon in the fight against cancer. In 1969, researchers at the National Research Center in Tokyo succeeded in isolating a polysaccharide called “lentianan” from Shiitake. In tests performed on laboratory guinea pigs, this component caused regression of tumors up to its disappearance. This effect was attributed to the ability of Shiitake mushroom to stimulate the immune system and direct it against tumor cells.
But what Shiitake has in addition to the others is its ability to fight highly resistant viruses such as HIV and Hepatitis B or C. Tests conducted in Japan have shown that Shiitake extract is more effective than the AZT medicine against the virus causing human immunodeficiency.
Hepatitis is a disease of the liver. Since 1980, several tests in 16 clinics in Japan have investigated the effectiveness of Shiitake on Hepatitis B and C. 40 individuals with chronic Hepatitis B were enrolled and given 6 grams of Shiitake for 4 months. All patients reported the disappearance of hepatitis B symptoms and in 15 of them the virus was inactivated.
