For a deep antioxidant cleansing, the Linus Pauling Institute recommended daily dose is 200-400 mg per day for at least a month.
Alpha lipoic acids are all the same?
The answer is no.
There are two forms of alpha lipoic acid (ALA):
- R-ALA is the form which is found naturally in the human body and is the biologically active form of alpha lipoic acid.
- S-ALA is the synthetic form, unnatural, it is a by-product during manufacturing of alpha lipoic acid and that is not helpful to the body and even can have negative effects.
Nobody sells only S-ALA that would have no effect, but to provide a cheaper product and therefore more attractive to buyers, manufacturers sell a mixture of R-ALA and S-ALA as seen directly from the manufacturing process.
Separation of the two compounds through standardization technology, during the manufacturing process involves additional costs, quite large and therefore many manufacturers are selling the product labeled as alpha lipoic acid.
R-ALA is 100% product, also is up to 12 times more effective than a no-standardized mixture of R-ALA and S-ALA.
In conclusion, if alpha lipoic acidthat you are buying is not “standardized”, you can say that you bought nothing.
Alpha Lipoic Acid from Organika Health Products is standardized to 100% R-ALA.
