What is Glucosamine?
- Glucosamine and Chondroitin are an integral part of the cartilage. The cartilage acts as a buffer between the bones that make up the joints.
- Glucosamine is a natural substance that is found in the shell of the mussel.
- It is available in various forms like the glucosamine chloride (hydrochloride ) GHC -500 and Glucosamine sulfate ( sulfate) GLS-500 which is a salt of Glucosamine.
- Glucosamine is also available in synthetic forms.
The body absorbs Glucosamine very well. Chondroitin can be found in natural form in the cartilage of sharks and cattle or in synthetic form. It’s also available in the form of chondroitin sulfate in combination with Glucosamine.
GLS-500 is widely used by athletes and older persons who have problems with joints and cartilage due to degenerative diseases (Arthritis, Rheumatism joints, Osteoarthritis, Osteoarthritis, Coxarthrosis, Gonarthrosis).
Glucosamine plays an essential role in the rebuilding the cartilage. Numerous studies indicate the efficiency of glucosamine sulfate in the treatment of coxarthrosis, (GLS-500) administered alone or associated with chondroitin sulfate (GHC-500).
Some people absorb better one of the two forms (GLS or GHC), the determination of the most effective form will be established on a case by case basis, but both forms have the same direction of action.
