DESCRIPTION

Endocrinologist William Regelson estimates that 10% of all women over the age of 50 have low thyroid function. The incidence is higher for women than for men, which reflects, in part, a higher rate of obesity in women. In addition, among some female subpopulations, the incidence is practically pandemic. An article in the New England Journal of Medicine, for example, described a study in which 51 out of 54 women with PMS (Pre-Menstrual Symptom) symptoms were suffering from low thyroid function.

Hormones produced by the thyroid stimulate the activity of organs, tissues and cells; controls skeletal growth and sexual development; it influences skin texture and hair shine and is responsible for a person’s source or lack of energy.

Thyrosyn supplement contains a complex orthomolecular formulation containing lyophilized ingredients that provide biological and nutritional support for the thyroid gland. This formula provides the thyroid gland with nutrients that are known to balance both hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism. Natural organic iodine is beneficial in controlling thyroid metabolism and nourishes the thyroid gland and parathyroid. The therapeutic action can help stimulate energy and relieve fatigue, as well as reduce water retention, weight gain and dry hair and skin. The thyroid gland regulates body metabolism and temperature and helps regulate blood sugar levels, so it is extremely important to stay healthy and work properly.

Low thyroid function, known as hypothyroidism, has negative effects on the metabolism of each living cell. Symptoms include: fatigue, weight gain, constipation, hair loss, muscle cramps, cold sensitivity, infertility, increased risk factor for infections, slow heart rate, heart attacks, dry and scaly skin, memory and concentration problems, depression, mental dysfunctions. Accelerated aging, chronic stress and hormonal fluctuations can be caused by hypothyroidism.

This long untreated problem has lately become so acute that the Association of Clinical Endocrinologists has begun routinely monitoring thyroid function, similar to monitoring blood pressure. Often, however, this issue is not treated seriously: doctors know that thyroid hormone levels tend to decrease with age and therefore qualify low levels as “normal” in middle-aged and elderly people, not considering time preventative actions so important.

Thyrosyn supplement provides thyroid function with key nutrients for the synthesis of thyroid hormones and for the protection of delicate thyroid tissue from oxidative stress and toxins. Thyrosyn releases L-tyrosine, which is the brick needed for the synthesis of T3 and T4 hormones. In addition, Thyrosyn provides thyroid with the iodine needed from two sources, including Norvegian Kelp (Ascophyllum nodosum) extract.

Minerals like iodine, zinc and manganese are essential for the good functioning of the thyroid. Unfortunately, food does not contain enough quantities of these minerals.

According to clinical studies, plants like Myrrh (Commiphora myrrha) and Myrtle (Myrtus communis) stimulate the activity of enzymes such as superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT) and lipid peroxidase (LPO), thus inducing increased antioxidant activity responsible for the increase in thyroid hormone levels T3 and T4. According to Ayurvedic medicine, Commiphora is best used with Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera). Studies suggest that there are constituents in Ashwagandha that support the healthy levels of lipid peroxidase. It was also found that SOD and CAT levels increased significantly after supplementation with Ashwagandha. Certain constituents of Ashwagandha lead to an increase in T4, the precursor hormone of T3, which is considered to be the active thyroid hormone. Other studies have found a simultaneous increase in T3 and T4 levels in association with Ashwagandha.

Stress is considered one of the major factors that lead to the disorder of thyroid function. Ashwagandha is one of the most powerful adaptogens in the world, which means it supports an active response to stress. In one study, 64 chronically stressed subjects received 300 mg Ashwagandha twice a day for 2 months. The group that ingested Ashwagandha experienced a significant reduction in scores at all stress assessment scales compared to the placebo group.
