Hippophae rhamnoides L. (subsp. sinensis)

It is a sub-species cross-over plant from Asia, known also as the Chinese White Sea Buckthorn. It is a plant similar to European Sea Buckthorn but it has a different content of essential phytonutrients. The “sinensis” variant has the highest therapeutic effect and it is cultivated in Asia at altitudes of 2500-4300 m. This plant variant contains beta-sitosterol-beta-D-glucosides, a beta-sitosterol aglycone. It has been scientifically demonstrated that an orthomolecular combination in the 100:1 ratio of Beta-sitosterol: Beta-sitosterol-beta-D-glucoside has a very strong immune modulator effect (Ref. 1, 2, 3). The peel of the fruit also contains flavon substances in abundance with an immunological effect (quercetin, kaempferol, myricetin and isorhamnetin) (Ref 4).

Phytosterols

Research has shown that phytosterols greatly enhance the activity of NK cells (Natural killer cells) that attack and destroy cancer cells both in the early stages as well as in advanced stages. Also increase the number of components of the immune system such as T cells, Interleukin-2 and gamma-glycoproteins.
